So, The Carter Family moved again! We decided that life in The Hills was a little bit too hard for us. The power outages were quite frequent, and there was always a constant fear that a large tree was about to fall on our house! So we packed up our lives, yet again, and headed to the beach! I know what you are thinking, why not head to the Gold Coast or Darwin, where the Sun always shines, but I am not sure we are ready for that kind of heat, so we'll settle for an extra couple of degrees in Winter and slightly cooler in the Summer! So here we are Bay-side in Rosebud/Capel Sound! We have downsized our home to increase our life budget and so far I am enjoying the change. A smaller house means less housework, surprisingly, and a nice flat garden means a lot of extra time outside for the pets and Julia.
The area too, is more manageable for me to get around and live my life, and is very dog friendly, a bonus, for both my personal and professional life! Juno, as you can imagine is over the moon about this, dog parks and beaches galore!! The schools are all very close and the community seems very welcoming. Tim is out of the house a little bit more due to the longer commute, but he seems to be enjoying his extra quite time in his car and there is also a higher probability that dinner will be ready and waiting for him on his return, as I have more preparation time and am not so worn out with the easier lifestyle.
Now all I need to do is get some local commissions on the go, and all will be right in the world. For now, I am going to practice some quick animal sketches and seascapes, that way, I can get out and enjoy my surroundings a little more while still continuing my career as an artist.

Life's a Beach!!
Hi, my name is Chrystal Carter, I am a mother to three lovely girls. I emigrated with my husband to Australia in December 2014, and have been living the dream, ever since! We are settled in the Dandenong Ranges and I have recently set up my brand new home art studio , in the heart of the hills, Tecoma. Here, I can follow my life long dream of being an artist drawing another of my greatest passions, animals, in particular, peoples beloved pets. I have always been fascinated by animals, nature and wildlife and where better to pursue my passions than here in Australia, and it certainly hasn't disappointed me! Follow me as a take on this new venture and brave new world, together with my wonderful family, and not forgetting my furry companions, Vin the Cat and Juno the Dog!
